Once a child is placed in your home, the support provided by Harmony does not end. Post placement supervision is a term generally used to describe the services provided to families during the period between placement of a child and finalization of the adoption. The term post-adoption supervision is used to describe supervision provided to a family when the adoption is finalized as is common in many international adoptions.
Post-placement services include:
- Regular visits with your family to discuss your adjustment to the adoption experience
- For international families, reports will be written to adhere to the standards of the placing agency and country
- For domestic adoptive families, reports will be written to the standards of the placing state and filed with the court of record
- Ongoing parent education
- Counseling
- Final recommendation to the court in your county
Generally, there will be three supervisory visits prior to finalizing a domestic adoption. Supervisory requirements for international adoptions vary from country to country. Each visit for Domestic Post Placement is billed at the rate of $150 for each visit and report. International Post Placements are billed at the rate of $200 for each visit and report.
