NASHVILLE PREDATORS SUPPORT HARMONY ADOPTIONS’ WORK
Harmony Adoptions’ FOCUS staff was recently awarded a grant from the Nashville Predators for their work in Middle Tennessee. The Nashville Predators’ strive to meet the educational, social, health and cultural needs of our community by offering unique resources and financial support to local youth-oriented organizations. The Finding Our Children Unconditional Support (FOCUS) Program is a collaboration between the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services, Harmony Adoptions, and provider agencies across the state to promote adopting children from Tennessee’s foster care system. Many thanks to the Nashville Predators for their support.
THE FOCUS PROGRAM RECEIVES ADOPTION EXCELLENCE AWARD
This year the FOCUS program is a recipient of the Adoption Excellence Award given by the U.S. Children’s Bureau. This is a national award that recognizes programs that have made the biggest difference in the world of adoption. The FOCUS team has worked tirelessly to find children in full guardianship and the foster care system a forever family. These are kids whose world is one of loneliness, disconnect, betrayal, transience, and broken promises. Due to their length of time in custody, history of multiple home or residential placements, and their emotional and behavioral needs these children face great challenges. FOCUS works to build a team of support around each of these kids and pushes toward innovative solutions to find them permanency. It’s an honor to have been a part of finding permanency for hundreds if not thousands of kids over the past 5 years.

FREE TRUST BASED RELATIONAL INTERVENTION (TBRI) TRAININGS
Harmony is piloting five FREE TBRI trainings in Knoxville, Chattanooga and Gray, Tennessee. Those eligible for these trainings are adoptive and foster families as well as families served by Harmony’s Adoption Support and Preservation Program (ASAP). 4th ANNUAL HARMONY ADOPTIONS’ SHARKS AND SEALS KIDS TRIATHLON
Our 4th Annual Harmony Kids Triathlon is less than 2 months away, which may seem forever but you know how time flies. We’re excited about spearheading our 4th annual event at Springbrook Pool in Alcoa on Saturday, June 23rd from 8 – 11, alongside our friends from Race Day Events.

Harmony Adoptions has a vision for turning the former Camp Montvale into the Harmony Family Center at Montvale, and it appears people are buying into that vision with dollars and sweat equity. Read more at knoxnews.com. Sam Furrow successfully negotiated the conservation easement for Camp Montvale. Both The Daily Times and The Knoxville News Sentinel have reported on this exciting step forward to make the Harmony Family Center at Montvale dream come true.

Harmony is currently launching a capital campaign to purchase and renovate Camp Montvale and create the first residential adoptive family treatment center in the country. We will offer a therapeutic and educational experience for children within the context of their family. The Harmony Family Center will also provide a haven for youth who have aged-out of the welfare system without a family.
